Alison Banikowski is a breast cancer survivor who, since her diagnosis in 2010 has raised funds for Susan G. Komen KC through her Race for the Cure team Alison's Allies. Alison's team has been the top fund-raiser for the past 7 years, raising over $100,000. In addition to fund-raising for KomenKC, Alison has spoken to numerous groups on breast health, supports others on their breast cancer journey, and advocates for breast cancer patients and a cure through her @AlisonsAllies social media. Alison Banikowski, known to many as Dr. B., is the former Deputy Superintendent of the Olathe Schools and a current professor at Baker University. Alison's motto: "One vision, one goal - the end of breast cancer"!
Alison was humbled by this honor, saying "What an amazing opportunity attending the game, sitting in the Buck O'Neil seat, receiving the Buck O'Neil honor, watching your story and pictures on the jumbo screen! All this for supporting a worthy cause that is near and dear to my heart!
