2022 Alison's Allies Team

The Alison's Allies team 2022 walk was on October 1, 2022. Our t-shirts highlighted the team's mission:  Alison's Allies  - Screening-Care-Research. 

The 2022 Alison’s Allies fundraising was a monumental success!  Support came from walkers, helpers, incentive contributors (Garmin, KC Current, Shop Beautiful), t-shirt sponsor (Parker State Farm), benefactor (Pumpkin Run), and so many financial donors! 

The 2022 Alison’s Allies goal was $15,000 to support KU Cancer Center breast cancer researcher Dr. Joan Lewis-Wambi whose research project focuses on the highly aggressive triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Because of the generosity of 100s, we SURPASSED our goal, raising $30,000! This allowed us to take advantage of the $15,000 match from the KU Cancer Biology dept. for a 2nd breast cancer research project AND to support a 2nd piot research project by Dr. Lauren Nye and Dr. Shane Stecklein.  Their research is studying the impact of metabolic risk on BRCA1 carriers. The project is advancing preliminary research they were conducting.
